Macau: The Venetian Hotel

It sure was one kind of a trip to start with just to get to Macau. Our flight was from MNL to HKG and we decided to ride a ferry to reach Macau. While we were still here in Manila, my brother and I searched for the cheapest possible fare for the ferry and we came upon CotaiJet's promotion which is this. But to make the long story very short, we ended up not able to buy the promotion ticket and cost ourselves a bit more expensive ticket and made it to Macau, way later than what was expected.

In my opinion, it is better to go to Macau on its own plan and trip rather than riding a ferry. By the way we ended up riding TurboJet Ferry and the service can be quite bad - real bad.

Once we arrived at the Macau Ferry Terminal, we easily made our way to the immigration and found a Filipina who works for The Venetian and led us to where we can hop on to the free shuttle service to the hotel.

The shuttle bus, led us to the west wing lobby where we easily got checked in at 4pm (I think this is just by luck, because most of the time, there are a lot of tourists who checks in at the same lobby) and had our Bella Suite on the South Wing which was nice and definitely spacious and is well stacked with toiletries and such. They also have a sofa-bed where another guest can sleep on. In total, at least 6 people can stay in a Bella Suite and is really good for people who are travelling in budget. ^.^

The only downside we had was the view. I definitely would have asked for a North Wing suite instead, so that I can see the Cotai Strip and the Las Vegas lights by night. The only view we had was the Galaxy Hotel and the not-so-beautiful machines of the hotel down below.

The Venetian Macao is a very huge hotel, casino and mall that is all under one roof. The first place we went to was the food court which is okay and had a lot of seats available. The food is definitely more pricey inside the hotel.

Just another tip, don't buy any products from the shops in the hotel because it is definitely will cost you more than what is being offered outside. Macao is known for their almond cookies so buy it at Senado Square instead where there are a lot of stores which sells it way way cheaper.

Our hotel also boasts of the grand canal where guests and casual customers can have a gondola ride while being serenaded with songs by a gondolier. We didn't avail of this because it was a bit pricey and we would rather eat more. ^.^
