History Book :>

Don't you just love buying a book with a real history in it? Well, I do. I love going to Booksale, a bookstore that sells second-hand books from the States - and finding or unintentionally finding books that has a true history. So what do I mean by true history?? It basically means, that the book I have on my hands came from someone out there and his or her name is on the book and some of it has letters like the one I recently bought. Though sometimes, there are just simply stickers, calling cards, papers in the middle of the book. :> Its just that, it feels like, I have found a treasure, a book that is so precious and makes me wonder why they sold it in the first place and who "Madeline" is. :"> I'm not really sure if I'm making sense but I hope I am making one! :))

I wonder who "Madeline" is? :>

The "precious" book

This book that I bought is about God, always having a Plan B! It will inspire me that God never forsakes us therefore we just have to be faithful, obedient, and steadfast with Him. :> I will share with you some of the short stories in it that will touch my heart and soul! :)

Bloody Bloody Blood :>

That's the title I could think of for today's post because it is related to BLOOD!

My school is currently celebrating their 83rd foundation week. So, our Institute of Nursing has come up with an event where different institutes will compete on which one will have the most blood donated to the Philippine National Red Cross. So, as you might have guessed.. I donated my blood yesterday!

It all started when my friend K and JR wanted to donate their own blood, and so they also asked me if I wanted to join them. We have already decided a week before that we were really going to donate our blood, but I myself, the coward, was really scared and told myself that maybe they will just forget about it, and in the end they didn't! ^^ So yesterday, K and JR told me that they didn't have their 4.30 to 6.00pm class so they looked for me and told me that, "Let's go donate out blood now!", and I was like :o ... They were so excited to donate their own blood, that I told myself that it will be for a good cause, so I must face my fear of needles and any medical stuff.

When we arrived at the location, we were first weighed to check if we can or not donate blood. It was some sort of an elimination round so in the three of us, K was eliminated because she was below the weight needed to donate blood so then there were 2 of us! JR and I... The next step was the interview! We were asked of our past medical records and I passed, JR DID NOT, because he had Dengue last year and he has to wait 6 months before he can start donating blood again! SO! :o I was left alone! The next step was taking my blood pressure and heart rate at the moment. My heart rate was 83beats/minute, because I was so scared, while my blood pressure was 130/70 which the volunteer said was a bit high but I could still donate. :/ Next was the blood test, to check what your blood type is. I already knew that my blood type was "O", but they still have to check for it so they pricked my finger and it hurt a lot! I did not shout or cry because it didn't hurt THAT much that it made me wanted to do so. After knowing and confirming that my blood type was "O", I was sent to the physician or doctor who will interview and ask me questions, people in the previous stations/steps have already asked me!

After all those, I was assigned or sent to a bed (well just the bed we use if visitors are around, and not the literal big bed we usually sleep on) where I will be injected and blood will start flowing out of my body! I am a big person, so whenever I am going for blood tests, people or the medical technicians from the laboratory should inject me a lot of times before they can hit a vein, so when it was my turn, I told the volunteer to please be good and just inject the needle once because it ain't a joke to be injected a lot of times! :> She told me that she will try her best and then there she goes! She injected me and voila, she hit the right vein and I was so glad. I must truthfully say that it didn't hurt as much as I expected it to hurt. It was just like an ant bite haha... She gave me a stress ball that I should keep on pressing on my palm every 5 seconds so that the blood will come out a little faster. It took around 5 - 10 minute for my blood bag to be filled and after which I had to stay lying down for some precautions, then I was then discharged.

As a remembrance or souvenir, they gave me a whistle! hahaha and a card to show that I have donated blood and it shall serve as my logbook. :>

What have I learned from this experience?
- It feels great to be able to donate a blood and to be able to pass all the tests.
- It only takes a few minutes for a blood bag to be filled.
- You can only donate blood every three months.
- It really just feels great to do something for someone you don't really know but know that he/she will appreciate what you have done! :D

Book 1 + Movie 1

Unintentionally, I was able to finish a great book last week. I was only able to blog about it tonight, because school load just lightened a bit today. My sister was the one who bought the book. At first I thought that it was a chick-lit and is something young teens would read and not a 19-year-old-lady (I like to call me that :>). But I stand corrected! Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern is about having that one true love no matter what your age is! Its all about a love that was really destined to happen. Alex and Rosie are two childhood friends who keeps in touch with each other through mails and e-mails and even though Alex moved to another country, they still kept in touch with each other sharing their happy moments and mishaps.

It was really a page turner. In my case, I was able to read 40% of it for just one day. The story and the way they talk to each other makes you want to know what would happen next. :) If you see this in your bookstores, make sure to have a copy of it and READ it! :D

Another thing I was able to do last week was to watch a movie with my high school friends! :D which was really great because I badly needed the time to hang-out with them and just have that relaxing moment.. I do sometimes believe that high school friends are still those people who understands you and makes you feel relaxed and lets you be who you really are.. For all its worth, they are my friends for almost a decade now! :) Think about that! :) The only not-so-nice part was that my best friend wasn't able to come with us but everything else was great! I was even able to treat them to eat some yogurt! and FYI, it was cheap! 35php per cup, unlike tutti frutti where its 20php per oz. and it wasn't even that good.. I forgot the name of the yogurt stall but I will tell you more about it when I go there again! :)

Gulliver's Travel was the one we watched last week. It stars Jack Black whom I really like (as an actor). I am still SPEECHLESS about the film. I can't really categorize the film, if whether or not is good or bad or if it was really goood or really baaad! :)) So, I guess you have to watch it so that you'll know what I am talking about.. :> I was shocked that they were still able to show Jack Black's musical expertise. The film became a little more like a musical but it was sure was a great comedy film! :>

Tomorrow (if I have time), I shall tell you about one thing I did today that was really great! okay? :> Till next time!

I got it ^o^

After 1 month of collecting stickers, I finally got the planner I want to use for the whole year 2011!!! TA-DA!!! Here it is! My 2011 Starbucks Planner!! :D I am just so happy about it because, I had this thought on my mind that I won't be able to complete all the required 19 slots since I don't drink Starbucks as often as I used to before. :) But praise Him for He helped me accomplish it all! :D And I would also like to thank my sister B, uncle A, friend A and D for giving me their promo cards or stickers! :D I am soooooo happy! :D Here are SOME of the photos I took of it. (The quality is so not good!)

I chose the one with the wood as its cover because I think it's better than velvet?? and metal or was it silver??? hahaha

Oh My! I'm 19!

It's my last teen year and I'm already worried on how I must live my life life when I reach 20! I mean how do people in their "-ty" face life? But for now, I must live my life to fullest each day before January 3, 2012 arrives! :)

For this year, one of my new year resolutions is to read more books and therefore voila! These are my reading assignments and more coming soon! :) haha.. I just wish I can finish them all, since they are mostly bestsellers, meaning they are very interesting! :D

And since its a new year, I thought I might as well have a new signature for my posts. :)
