Makan Makan Asian Village

Makan Makan Asian Village is one of the restaurants at Ocean Park Manila and I just want to say that it is not really a place I want to eat at :)

Looks good but doesn't taste like it.. Its too bland that we weren't able to finish it.. To sum it up, not really a place I want to go back to.. I am not only judging from this one dish for the whole place, I was able to try their other dishes and it was still not good.. :(

Pan-Fried Beancurd

You might be wondering what was that thing behind the pat bing su! Well, it was also one of the dishes that we cooked yesterday! :) This is also a very VERY simple dish that we cooked and one of the dishes I wish you guys will try! :) It has that blend of sweet, spicy and salty taste which makes it really good! And being a Filipino, I can truthfully say that it is best eaten with rice! ^.^ Simple ingredients are also needed and it is also a Korean dish! :)

Here are the things you will need:
1 block bean curd, sliced
1 cup All-Purpose Flour
1 cup Cornstarch
1/2 cup cooking oil

for the sauce:
4 Tbsp Light Soy Sauce
½ Tbsp Sugar
1 Tbsp Chili powder
1 tsp Crushed Garlic
2 tsp Spring onion, chopped
1 tsp sesame seeds, roasted

Procedure:

1. Pat bean curd slices with combined plain flour and cornstarch mixture.

2. Heat oil in a frying pan and pan-fry bean curd slices on one side until golden brown, then flip them over to fry the other side. Arrange on a serving plate.

3. Combine ingredients for sauce and blend well. Pour sauce over hot bean curd pieces before serving.

*Now! Ain't that easy?! ^^,

Life is good this week and I praise God for that! :)

Pat Bing Su 팥빙수

I know that I have been out for a very long time but believe me, it makes really sad too.. Thesis is the culprit for this and I'm just quite happy that my life is somehow back on track.. Though, I have to be honest and say that I am really starting to get lazy to post ALL the recipes we cooked in school.. BUT what we cooked today should really be posted immediately! :)

Even though, rainy season has arrived here in the Philippines, the weather sometimes really rise up and all you want is something sweet, cool, and refreshing.. Well, Pat Bing Su (팥빙수) surely is the one you would love! ^^,

What I really like about it is that it is really easy to make and measurements doesn't really exist! ^.^ All you need are crushed ice, fruits, red bean paste and condensed milk! You can even top it with yogurt or ice cream and even chocolate syrup! :) All you have to do is place some shaved ice in a shallow bowl then top it with the fruits you like and the red beans. Lastly, drizzle it with the condensed milk! :)

The fruits we used were mango, kiwi, and dragon fruit. We did have banana but for got to place it in. You can also add strawberries and if you want something quick just use drained fruit cocktail as your topping then just add the red bean and milk! ^^

Enjoy! ^^
