Shopping Vegetarian
Since it was my day-off yesterday, I decided to go to Alonzo St. corner Te Tuan St. in Binondo to look for a certain store that only sells vegetarian foods. The store's name is Dong Feng (東方) and they sell almost all kinds of vegetarian frozen items as well as seasonings! :) I was happy because I saw a lot of familiar items and I bought a few things. TWO actually haha..
I'm not sure what it's called but it is used for meat substitute (Php 110) kinda cheap..
vegetarian sate sauce (Php 95) very cheap already!! ^.^
When you soak the artificial meat to warm water for a few hours, you can start using it but you would also like to marinate it with soy sauce, sate sauce, and some sugar. After marinating it, you can simply pan fry it or use it to make other dishes. I actually tried one but it didn't look that good (but tastes great), so I will try it again until it looks good! ^.^
Vegetarian cooking is starting to make me feel very intrigued and excited.. ^.^

Vegetarian Cooking Class (3 of 4)
Things just starts to get better and better and even though I haven't tried to cook any dishes I have posted so far, I will be going to a vegetarian store tomorrow to be able to start trying them! :)
Starting off with a soup called 3 Kinds Bamboo Soup... So flavorful rich and clear which is what I like. ^.^
We also made a lotus leaf wrapped rice which I think is a bit easy, compared to how hard I imagined it to be. :)) The idea was that we put the rice at the bottom of the lotus leaf and put some cooked yellow bean paste
uncooked rice, stir fried with ginger, mushroom and vegetarian ham with soy sauce and suger
the raw skinless yellow beans
arranging the rice and yellow bean paste on the lotus leaf
Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet "vegetarian style"
Chicken Pandan but made of Vegetarian Meat with Ham inside tied together for a quick deep fry!
a vegetarian feast! yum!!!
I wonder what's for our last class next week!
Less than a week before our HK-Macau Trip... ha... vacation.. can't wait!! ^.^

Vegetarian Cooking Class (2 of 4)
My second class was so much more fun than the first one and I was definitely happy with what we made! :) Most of these were easy and definitely delicious! Will be trying the peanut ball soup real soon! ^.^
The peanut ball soup is really good and refreshing. I even think that even just by having the soup as a cold drink will be just as good. And since we have the sweet potato at home, I will definitely try it... haha.. so excited! ^.^

Logos Hope: Second Time Around
I went back to Logos Hope this morning because I was very much interested with the 4th book on the picture (Gorgeous Cake). And even though I don't own an oven, I find baking really interesting and maybe, just the fact that I don't have an oven makes me want it more. ^.^ I was really decided to just buy one book, but I guess I was wrong. I ended up with additional 4 books!
1. A Charlie Brown Christmas 2. Travel Around China 3. One Year Did You Know Devotions 4. Gorgeous Cakes 5. What's Cooking Stir-Fry
Out of all the books, I think Travel Around China was a bargain. 200 pesos for a book that tells you about the culture, traditions and wonderful tourists spots of China. When I saw the book and then the price, I just told myself, "buy!". ^.^ All of these books cost a bit more than a thousand but I just want each and every one of it! ^.^

All Aboard the MV Logos Hope...
This Sunday afternoon, my family and I went to the pier and visited the Logos Hope. What is the Logos Hope you say? It is only the biggest bookstore on a ship and it's docked here in the Philippines (for now)! Since it was a Sunday, there were a LOT of people and we were some of those people.
The ship
When you get inside, you are asked to sit for a while so as to be briefed with what you can expect from the whole deck of the ship.

Vegetarian Cooking Class (1 of 4)
My dad actually enrolled me to this class and I was a bit hesitant at first because the class is held on a Chinese Temple. But in the end, food talks! ^.^ The class costs Php 1600 and we can learn how to cook 4 vegetarian dishes every session for 4 sessions :)
Today, we learned how to cook vegetarian dynamite, peanut with gluten and steamed beancurd roll with shiitake mushroom, taro and tofu. While the last one is the tomato soup which I wasn't able to take a picture of because I can't find a way to make it look really good but it does taste Good! ^.^
Might post the recipes once I tried to cook them myself! ^.<
