So here goes the second installment of my baking experience last Saturday! As you know we baked two things that day, Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chip Cookies and Natilla-Filled Chocolate Cake! :) But before I go on with the cake, I just want to share some more pictures of the cookies we baked.. :) This is not a cookie but this is someone who loved what we baked.. This is Mark! As you can see, he loves taking pictures and he sure was a handful when we were baking! :)

This on the other hand was the very big oatmeal cookie we baked :)) It was so big that we weren't able to finish it ourselves :))

Moving on.. We also bakes Natilla-Filled Chocolate Cake that day wherein the recipe was taken from NewGenBaker... :) I personally liked the cake because it wasn't that bad for beginners like us... :') So here is the recipe!
Ingredients:
for the Natilla or the filling in between the cakes:
1/2 cup condensed milk
1 cup milk
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon butter
for the cake:
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1-1/2 cups All- Purpose Flour
1-3/4 cups sugar
1-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup butter
1 cup water
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
for the Chocolate Icing:
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon coffee
2 cups evaporated milk
1 cup condensed milk
1/4 cup All- Purpo
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 tablespoon butter
Instructions:
1) Preheat Oven to 350°F.
2) Grease and line two 9-inch round pans. (we used foil papers instead = easy cleaning)
3) Sift first 6 ingredients for the cake together. Set aside.
4) Cream butter until fluffy. Add sifted ingredients alternately with water and beat for about 2 minutes until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat 1 minute longer.
5) Pour into prepared pans and bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until done. Let cool.
6) Combine all ingredients for Natilla except butter in a double boiler and cook until thick around 30 minutes. Remove from fire. Stir in butter.
7) In a heavy bottom saucepan mix together all ingredients for chocolate icing except baking soda and butter. Cook until thick; stir in baking soda and butter.
8) To assemble: Fill layers of cake with Natilla.
My notes:
- Our cake got dry so i suggest that you either put oil in the mixture or check on it after 30 minutes, to make sure that it is perfect.
- If you have other recipes for a chocolate icing, then use that and not this one because it is gonna be tough making this one. Ours actually got burnt and it does affect the taste of the whole cake! :)
- Use 8 inch baking round pans so that your cake will be a little thicker.. :)
So far these are some of my thoughts and now, for the pictures which are very few and incomplete.. :) I wasn't able to take a final shot which I think is a mortal sin haha.. (my excuse: We needed to chill it for an hour and it was already getting late and we had to bring it to Jenny. When we gave it to Jenny, my camera had turned low batt on me), so let's use our imagination... 0.0
