Baked Satruday (part 1 )

Yesterday was a wonderful day for me and my high school friends because we baked! :D The fact that I don't have an oven in my house made baking such a great thing that I was truly excited even the day before. We went to our friend, Angellyn's house to bake some goodies...

We decided to bake a cake and cookies at the same time. Wherein the cake is for Jenny since it was her birthday and the cookies are for us to munch on.. ^.^ We also decided the day before that we will be baking Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chip Cookies adapted from My Baking Addiction. :)

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chip Cookies

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter (I think we place more than this amount!)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup rolled oats ( and also more of this one ^.^)
1 cup chocolate chips or chocolate morsels (we placed less of this!)

Method:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Stir in the peanut butter, vanilla and egg until well blended.

3. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the batter just until moistened. Mix in the oats and chocolate chips until evenly distributed. Drop by tablespoonfuls on to lightly greased cookie sheets.

4. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until the edges start to brown. Cool on cookie sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

So what happened to us was, we had this..

then this..

to these warm, fresh from the oven cookies! :)

We noticed that cookies got flatten out while it was being baked at the oven and that it got really humongous and each cookie was stuck with the other, so I recommend that you give space among your cookies so that this won't happen! :D We also used an ice cream scoop to evenly measure and distribute the cookies...

The final product was great! We really liked it and even my friends' moms loved it too.. Although, I think that it was quite too sweet so be careful when putting those chocolate morsels and even those peanut butter! But other than that, I really love this recipe and will definitely be on my tried and tested recipes! :D

When we had chocolate syrup on our side we also drizzled some (or maybe a lot of it) on our cookies and here are some of it! :D

Angellyn, Sydney, Jeannine, and Anne :)

part 2 of my baked Saturday will be about the cake which is Natilla-Filled Chocolate Cake! :D
